Top of the Tower Topeka – A Townsite Wedding

Weddings

Haydin and Sam are high school sweethearts. These beautiful souls grew up together, sharing a love of each other and their commitment to the Lord . The couple dated for years before planning a fun and intimate bonfire for their families and friends. But what Haydin didn’t know, is that Sam was going to propose. And she said, “Yes!” The couple married at their local and lovely church, Highland Heights Christian Church in Topeka, Kansas. Following the ceremony, the couple had a reception at the Top of the Tower – Topeka, with a stunning view of The Kansas State Capitol Building.

Engagement Session at The Governor’s Mansion

For Haydin and Sam’s engagement session, we started at The Governor’s Mansion using those gorgeous fields and trails. Amanda, Haydin’s mother, brought Daisy out for a quick part of the session. Daisy is the couples adorable dog, life of the party and all around best friend. Everyone should bring their doggies (or kitties!) for part of their session. It takes some coordination but it is so worth it. Check out this article on what to wear for your engagement session!

Details of the Day

What an epic day for Haydin and Sam! After the first look with Haydin’s father at the Top of the Tower – Topeka, he showed me the inside of his necktie. He had it printed with an old picture of him and his daughter from years ago. When Haydin was preparing for her first look with Sam, Haydin’s mom and grandmother’s wanted to watch. They were so cute peeking around the corner with smiles on their faces. The couples ceremony included a cord of three strands, tying the three ropes into one and showing their unity to God. They also had an intimate feet washing which was the most beautiful act I have ever witnessed. And when it came time for the father and daughter dance, Haydin’s sister and mother were seen with tears in their eyes. Every part of this beautiful day was filled with emotion.

Townsite 16 – Top of the Tower

This beautiful space on the 16th floor is surrounded by windows with a beautiful view of the Kansas State Capitol and the City of Topeka. I love this space because the lighting is absolutely stunning with gorgeous chandeliers throughout. The view is unmatched and the venue does all the catering. They have high-quality food, along with exceptional service. (As a side note, they host reservation-only monthly dinners for a no pressure way to taste and experience their catering. I have been several times and I highly recommend this for a date night experience!)

Surprise Polaroids

Unbeknownst to Haydin and Sam, my second photographer and I picked out three of our favorite images from the day. During dinner, I downloaded those images to my phone and printed them with a portable printer and hand delivered them to the couple at the end of the night. They were thrilled and surprised at having a physical reminder of their beautiful day.
