Vendor Spotlight: Heritage Hall at Stormont Vail Events Center

Weddings

A Century of History, Ready for Your Big Day

If you’re searching for a wedding venue in Topeka that blends historic character with modern amenities, Heritage Hall deserves a close look. Located at 1 Expocentre Drive, this limestone landmark has been a cornerstone of the Topeka community for over a century. And after a recent renovation, it’s better than ever.

A Little Background

Heritage Hall was built in 1925. It is one of the oldest building on the Events Center campus. It originally served as an open-air structure during the Shawnee County Fair. And it would shelter guests from the Kansas sun. Along with providing shelter from summer rains. The hall began by showcasing exhibitions, farm equipment, and community spirit. In the mid-1980s, Heritage Hall was enclosed with windows and doors. The hall was outfitted with a stage and modern amenities, and officially reopened as an event venue. Since then, it has become one of Topeka’s most beloved gathering spaces.

The Renovation

Heritage Hall recently went through a significant renovation that modernized the space without sacrificing its historic charm. The project was handled by event staff. Although many parts of the building were renovated, the building maintains the original limestone. The former stage area was reimagined into a bridal suite, perfect for bridal parties, breakout sessions, or private prep rooms. The Groom’s suite was renovated from the old kitchen area. Also – the interior now features fresh paint, elegant chair rail detailing, and all-new windows and doors that flood the room with natural light. Outside, newly added amenities include a charming pergola with twinkling lights, a privacy-fenced patio space, and a dedicated outdoor bar area — giving couples the option to seamlessly move the celebration outdoors.

The Space

Heritage Hall is a charming limestone building offering 7,200 square feet of space. The venue features arched French doors, stone-lined walls, high ceilings, and an outdoor pergola. Another perk – upgraded seating, LED color-changing lights, and modern audio-visual options ensure every event feels professional and polished. Heritage Hall comfortably accommodates up to 350 guests in a variety of configurations — and is equally comfortable for parties as small as 25.

Food & Beverage

Another perk for couples is that food, beverage, and bar service are all handled in-house. The in-house chef offers what the venue describes as “gourmet comfort food” — ranging from classic Midwest barbecue to Mediterranean menus, with options for heavy appetizers, buffets, or formal plated dinners. Having everything under one roof simplifies planning considerably and eliminates the need to coordinate with outside catering vendors.

What to Expect

But the staff at Heritage Hall is the real perk. They are devoted to making each big day a success. During your event, services include setup and cleanup, and tables and chairs are provided. An experienced Event Manager is available to assist couples throughout the planning process. As Convention Sales Manager Brianna Berggren put it: “You just let us know what you want, and we will make your event match your vision.”

The Bottom Line

Heritage Hall offers something that’s genuinely hard to find: a venue with real history, a flexible layout, on-site catering, and a team experienced in making events run smoothly. For couples who want a meaningful setting without the stress of piecing together outside vendors, it’s a strong option right in the heart of Topeka.
