Iliff Commons
This session was all about this gorgeous senior. Her location choice was the Iliff Commons and the abandoned roads. We started off at the Iliff Commons, which is a beautiful place. Here is the history behind the Commons. It is for the public to exercise in a beautiful, natural, environment. The space is privately owned and open to the public. There is no fees to visit, walk, run, ride or bring your sweet doggie!
When we arrived, we just happen to be in this pocket of beautiful clouds. You could see the rolling hills and trees behind Miss Olivia. It was the perfect set up and scene for her senior pictures.
We picked a few locations because everywhere you go, it’s just gorgeous.
Dirt Roads
Then we moved on to our second location… a dirt road. Unfortunately, the one I had picked out for us just happened to have a lot of wind. We pivoted to another dirt road with the most beautiful light.
And it was right next to a location close to my heart.
Abandoned Roads
The abandoned roads. These roads have been a staple of my life. I’ve walked these roads with my kids, with my dogs, with my mom… for fifteen years. These roads are where my son fell off his bike going downhill and got stitches for the first time. These roads are where we took our dogs off leash every winter. And these roads is where I took my daughter for my first attempt at double exposure photography.
While we were there, Olivia’s younger sister started picking berries for her salad which she imaginarily ate all of and it was filled with vegetables. She was so entertaining.
Throughout our time, Olivia mentioned that she has a scholarship to the community college for softball and is planning to be an athletic trainer. She loves her friends and says Ava makes her laugh the most unlike me who tried to make her laugh 1,000 times and was unsuccessful. But I think I made her laugh because I was so unsuccessful at making her laugh if that makes any sense.
In the end, this was a beloved session for this sweet senior at the Iliff Commons and the Abandoned Roads.
